New Insight

For awhile now, I’ve been confused on where to go with this page. One can only like beauty products for so long. As well as have a pocket big enough to support the hobby. I certainly can’t support myself in the beauty world. I’ve decided to embark on another journey. I want to become the clay; willing to be molded, shaped, and renewed. After a rough couple of months, it is time for me to change. I want to be able to actually tell people I am a Christian; mean it and believe it. Not only do I want an incredible walk with God, I would appreciate a softer heart for my worldly relationships. Mending those from the past, making closer connections with current relationships, becoming open to new opportunities, and introducing myself to new acquaintances. Everything in my life needs a new approach. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11

I'm going to document my voyage.

Haul Before I Even Get It!

So I live in eastern time and Hautelook.com was having a sale on Urban Decay today starting at 8am pacific time. What that means is, I had to do my shopping in class! I'm in Western Civilization shopping and blogging! I'm just too excited about all my new goodies! Since I have the time I thought I would just go ahead and haul my Urban Decay purchase!

I got both blushes that were on sale. These colors are (left to right) Score and Quickie. Score is more of a coral whereas, Quickie is more pink. I've recently become obsessed with blush, so I had to get both! The normally retail for $17 each and Hautelook had them for $5 each!

I got 4 single eye shadows. The colors on the top are Gash and Jones. I love these colors! I always grab for reds and oranges!
Below, the colors are Chronic and Narcotic. I choose these because you can't have too many blues in your eye shadow collection. Chronic is more of a sea foam green blue, and Narcotic is a darker version of Chronic. The bottom shadows are both matte.

Each eyeshadow is normally $17 but I got these $5 each.

Then also for eyes, I got the Summer of Love palette. This comes with a 24/7 eyeliner and a small primer potion! I just randomly picked this up. It retails normally for $29 and I got it for $15.

Last but not least I got the Ink for Eyes cream eyeliner in the shade Pyrotechnics. I just wanted to try out their cream eyeliners and Pyrotechnics is an interesting white shade.
This is normally $22 and it was on sale for $6.50.

All in all it was a good sale! I spent around $57
and my total discount was over $110!

Check this sale out at http://www.hautelook.com/events

Happy Shopping!

Spring Mint!

So I was in a terrible mood today, and I really wanted to do something relaxing. Who knew that random picture taking would make me feel better. I decided to touch on another nail polish trend that probably will never go out. And that is mint color polishes.

 Starting with my new favorite nail polish company. China Glaze's Re-Fresh Mint is a great sea foam minty blue! This is a perfect color to sport during the spring time! You can pick this up at Ulta for $6.50!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another great mint green blue color is Mint Cream by ELF. Mint Cream is more of a gray toned mint color and its perfect! This is a steal for one 1 dollar!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear by Sally Hansen in the
shade Mint Sorbet is a perfect spring color. This color reminds me of an Easter egg! You can grab this at any drug store for 2 to 3 dollars! It's a great deal!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Last but definitely not least is Essie's Turquoise and Caicos. Now this color is more of a Tiffany color. But is still amazing! I love this color mainly because it doesn't chip as easy and is super wearable all spring and summer! I picked this up at my local Walmart for about 7 dollars. You can find Essie at Walmart, Target and Ulta.
Again, I hope you get some great ideas for spring using this great mint sea foam type of color!
Happy Painting! :)
Nude but not naked
So lately nude color nail polishes are the spring trend. Here are a few of my favorites of this trend.
LEFT to RIGHT: OPI SWEETHEART, ESSIE JACKIE OH MY, ELF INNOCENT, ULTA PROFESSIONAL IT'S NUDE TO ME
Sweet Heart from OPI is the perfect baby nude pink! This color looks great on all skin tones!
This Jackie Onassis inspired Esse polish is a great nude! In the bottle it may appear to be a white, but when on the nail it is a shimmery nude color. I don't usually go for the shimmery colors, but this looks amazing!
For $1, this ELF polish is amazing. It's a nude with a brown tone in it. This polish is one of my new favorites and that is because it lasts forever (doesn't chip as easy)!
Last but not least! This was a random Ulta purchase. I got it a few weeks ago because Ulta was having a sale on their professionals collection (I believe this is still going on) anyways, everything was buy one get one so I bought one and guess what!?! I got one! Haha! This color caught my eye instantly! It's more of a mix between the ELF polish and the OPI. I've only worn this polish for a few days and I like it!
Well those are my nudes! I hope you've gotten some ideas on this trend!
 Just remember to wear clothes with these polishes! :P
Happy Painting!
the happy blues...
So MAC came out with their Jeanius collection this past week and that inspired me to try out some blues for spring. I want the eye shadows from the Jeanius collection but in this terrible economy and with rising gas prices (*tear*) I have to refrain from going for this collection right now. I used my BH Cosmetics 88 matte palette to experiment with the blues and teals to find a good balance that isn't the 90's tacky blue eyeshadow my sister used to sport in high school (sorry!) haha! Of course my blues are more blue than the Jeanius collection. The MAC colors are more focused on navy and silver tones. I decided to go more towards the teal blue tones. My mom looked at me like I was crazy when I came out of my room earlier with my makeup done...I told her I was just too trendy for her! Ha!
Another thing that inspired me was a tutorial from Amarixe.
And after much experimenting I came up with this....
Products used:
-Urban Decay Primer Potion
-NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in the shade Cottage Cheese
- BH Cosmetics 88 Matte Palette
-ELF Liquid Eyeliner in Midnight
-Estee Lauder Artist Eye Pencil in Softsmudge Black
- Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express Mascara
And of course my nail polish color is Turquoise and Caicos by Essie :)
